CVpass vs Jobscan: the French alternative
Evaluating Jobscan for your school, CFA (French apprenticeship training center) or firm? Here is a feature-by-feature comparison with CVpass, built specifically for French organizations and the ATS they target.
Choose CVpass if
- You are a French school, firm or organization
- Your DPO (data protection officer) requires a DPA, EU hosting and anonymization
- You want an admin dashboard and organization branding
- Your candidates target European ATS (Workday FR, Teamtailor, SmartRecruiters EU)
- You prefer an annual plan on quote and a free test on your own resumes
Choose Jobscan if
- You are an individual job seeker based in the United States
- You target large American companies (US ATS)
- An English-only interface works for you
- You don't need a DPA or European hosting
- You are buying an individual subscription, not one for a team

Why a French tool changes everything
The ATS used by French recruiters are not the same as in the United States. Workday, Taleo, SmartRecruiters and Teamtailor apply different parsing rules depending on the regional version deployed. A Jobscan score doesn't necessarily reflect how a French ATS configured for the European market actually scores a resume.
CVpass is calibrated on the French versions of these ATS and detects errors specific to the French market, such as multi-column Canva resumes that European ATS bots don't read correctly, or graphic headers that get dropped during parsing.
On compliance, the GDPR sets a framework that most US tools don't follow by default. An Article 28 DPA, EU hosting and data anonymization are prerequisites for selling to a French public school or a large French company, not nice-to-haves.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions about the comparison
Why is CVpass cheaper than Jobscan for an organization?
Jobscan charges per individual user ($49.95 per month). CVpass offers an annual plan for the institution: from $1,650 per year for up to 100 students, or about $1.38 per student per month. The pricing logic is different: individual at Jobscan, organizational at CVpass.
Is CVpass scoring as reliable as Jobscan?
Yes, but it follows different rules. Jobscan is calibrated on US ATS (Greenhouse US, Lever US, Workday US). CVpass is calibrated on the European versions of the same ATS and on the ATS specifically used in France (Teamtailor FR, SmartRecruiters EU). For candidates applying internationally, the two tools can complement each other.
Can we import data from Jobscan into CVpass?
Not directly, because the scoring models are different. But CVpass onboarding takes 2 minutes: CSV import, Google or Microsoft SSO, or email invitation. Switching from Jobscan to CVpass involves no data migration cost.
Is CVpass support really in French?
Yes: support team, documentation, sales demos and invoices. Transactional emails and chat are in French by default, with English available on request. The DPO and billing team reply within 24 to 48 business hours.
Does CVpass offer a free trial comparable to Jobscan's free plan?
Schools and CFAs can send 3 to 5 student resumes and get the before/after for free within 48 business hours; firms get a 15-minute demo. For individual users, cvpass.fr offers a free analysis.
