In short: build a CV or fix yours?
CVpass can also build a CV from scratch (you answer 6 questions and the AI writes it), but its strength is still fixing.
- You're starting from scratch and want lots of design choices: Kickresume.
- You already have a CV and want to improve it for a specific job posting: CVpass.
What Kickresume does well
- Lots of templates: more than 40 CV templates and 40 matching cover letter templates in the premium plan, with customisable colours and fonts. CVpass offers fewer.
- A real free plan for building: 4 basic templates and unlimited downloads.
- Extras: personal website, LinkedIn and PDF import, iOS and Android app.
- A 14-day money-back guarantee, and a free premium plan for students who verify their status.
When CVpass is a better fit
- You want a diagnosis: a score out of 100 and the list of points to fix.
- You want to compare your CV to a job posting and see which keywords are missing.
- You want your sentences rewritten to match French hiring conventions.
- You're on a tight budget or have a single application: the 2-credit Pack costs €2.90, no subscription.
How CVpass fixes your CV in 3 steps
A practical tip: replace tasks with results. "Gestion des réseaux sociaux" (social media management) becomes "Animation de 3 comptes Instagram et LinkedIn, publication chaque semaine" (ran 3 Instagram and LinkedIn accounts, posting every week), with your real numbers. CVpass doesn't make them up for you.
- Upload your CV (PDF or Word) and, if you have it, the job posting you're targeting.
- Read the diagnosis: in about thirty seconds, you get your score and the points to review (vague job titles, skills from the posting that are missing, poorly structured sections).
- Accept the fixes one by one, then download your PDF.
